Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to make Instagram debut ahead of Cannes appearance?

It's that time of the year when Bollywood divas like Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan flock to the French Riviera for one of the most coveted international film festivals. While Deepika and Kangana Ranaut have already reached Cannes, Aishwarya is all set to make her 17th appearance at Cannes Film Festival.
And the diva has a surprise in store for her fans. If reports are to be believed, Aishwarya will make her Instagram debut a day ahead of her Cannes appearance.
While Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are quite a pro when it comes to social media, Aishwarya has stayed away from it. But that's about to change soon. It was last year that had said in an interview, "The time has come for me to join social media".
And now she is ready to foray into the digital world with her Instagram account. A source told DNA, "sh has a huge fan base on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Her fans have been waiting for her to be on social media for a long time. It's due to constant requests from her well wishers, admirers and fans from all around the globe that she opted to start an official handle to keep them abreast of her life and projects."
But it's wasn't an easy move for the 44-year-old actor who needed a lot of cajoling from close friends to join social media.
"Ash's closest buddies from the industry, which include Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra and others, have been telling her to join social media. Even her team persuaded her a lot. Before her 17th Cannes appearance, the L'Oreal team also discussed this with her. Finally, she decided to go ahead," added the source.
The report suggests that she will make her Instagram debut on May 11.

With his curly hair, bobbling head and round sunglasses, we still think of “ Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela ” when we think of Bobby Deol. After a string of popular films like Gupt and Soldier among others, Bobby made quite a name for himself in the 90s. Bobby was never known for his acting chops. The 90s were a much simpler time. Words like nepotism weren’t thrown around before a star kid’s debut and hence, Bobby Deol was proudly known as  Dharmendra ’s younger son. His older brother  Sunny Deol  was already the  dhai -kilo-ka-haath man and here was Bobby, trying to make googly eyes at the ladies. It was expected that with Bobby entering the world of movies, this family would turn into a crackling team. Gupt, one of the rare Hindi films that really holds your attention till the end, was quite a hit...
